Entertainment news is led by a legal and labor jolt: artists are pushing back against AI music tools, while a game studio tied to a major franchise puts most of its staff on unpaid leave just before launch. The day also brings high-profile exits on stage and new consumer hardware as the business of entertainment keeps shifting under pressure from technology and cost cutting.

Jason Isbell is among the lead plaintiffs in a federal class action against AI music company Suno, accusing it of exploiting musicians’ identities without consent. The lawsuit alleges users can generate songs linked to recognizable artists’ names, styles and personal traits, raising fresh legal questions about personality rights and generative AI in music.

Bit Reactor furloughs most of its development staff only weeks before the planned launch of Star Wars: Zero Company. Reports indicate roughly 80% of employees are placed on unpaid leave, a move that casts uncertainty over the studio’s near-term operations and adds to concerns about instability in the video game business.

Jonathan Bailey is leaving the West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George, following Ariana Grande’s earlier exit from the production. Bailey announces the departure in a statement on social media, marking another major cast change for the high-profile staging of Stephen Sondheim’s musical.

Roku is moving further into premium hardware with its first self-branded OLED televisions. The new sets start at $999 and include Roku Pro Series OLED and Roku Pro Series LX OLED models, extending the company’s TV lineup as it competes more directly in the higher end of the home entertainment market.
