Today’s tech story is really about control: who gets to use content, who gets to move through regulated airspace, and who gets to shape digital behavior. Noah Kahan publicly rebuked the White House after it used his song “American Cars” in a Trump-related social media post without permission, turning a music-rights dispute into another flashpoint over political branding online. DoorDash, meanwhile, won FAA approval for its in-house drone network, signaling that autonomous delivery is inching closer to the mainstream even if human couriers will still handle most orders for now. In software, Google is pushing Gemini further into everyday computing on the Mac with system-wide voice dictation and an optional screen-aware mode that can read what’s on your desktop to help write, edit, and summarize. And in regulation, X is clashing with Australia over tougher enforcement of its under-16 social media ban, arguing the law’s reach could cross legal and national boundaries.
